| Cllr Darryl Beckford | |
![]() | Darryl has lived in
Macclesfield since his wife was relocated here four years ago to work
for AstraZeneca. Originally from South East London, Darryl also lived in
Bristol for a spell but is now passionate about his new home. Owning a house in the centre of Macclesfield West, he is equally at home cycling around the town as he is walking the dog up Shutlingsloe - and Macclesfield is one of the few places that can provide this town and country balance. Darryl is self employed as a Business Consultant and would like to use these skills to ensure Cheshire East will be run well. The ability to understand and interact with a wide range of people is essential when out in the ward - but this must be balanced by taking a consistent, questioning and firm approach to council policy. |
| Without this it will not be possible to deliver good value for money whilst retaining the quality of services which all residents desire. With the support of Macclesfield West behind him, Darryl genuinely hopes that a new council can be a new start for areas of Cheshire which have been neglected over previous years. All the residents of this ward deserve the opportunity to learn, work and play to the height of their abilities, and only a good local authority can provide this. He hopes the residents of Macclesfield West will elect him and his Conservative Colleagues to deliver this new start. | |

| Cllr Sandy Bentley | |
![]() | Sandy enjoys reading (although
since becoming a Councillor this seems to have tended more towards
council papers rather than library books!) and also enjoys French jive
dancing and Pilates. She tries to go for long walks whenever time and
weather permits. Gardening also takes up quite a few hours of her time. |
| Sandy has always had an empathy for old people since working for
Sir Patrick Cormack during the time he was a parliamentary candidate
and later MP for Cannock in Staffordshire. She notes "We had many
elderley people visit his office and surgeries, and I gained an insight
into their particular problems and difficulties.'' Her current passion is to try and get public transport available to enable people without their own cars to be able to get to the local hospital and also the medical centres. This seems to have been a major problem for far too long. Sandy has recently been appointed to the Health & Adult Scrutiny Committee and will be speaking up loud and clear to appeal for the transport matter to be addressed. Sandy is also Chairman of the Appeals Committee, a member of the Charter Trustees for Macclesfield, Chairman of the local Ivy Branch and a School Governor. | |
