Post: 9 Carlisle Street, Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 7EZ |
| Cllr Hilda Gaddum | |||
![]() | Hilda Gaddum was first elected to Sutton Ward in 1999. As a large part of the Ward is in the Peak District National Park, she was given the only seat on the Peak District National Park Authority. With a very large rural ward, she became interested in housing and planning, being involved in both areas. When the housing stock was transferred, she spent more time on planning, chairing the Main Planning Committee.
| Within the National Park, Hilda chaired the Audit and Performance Committee, and then became Deputy Chair of the Authority, standing down from that post after three years. In June last year, she was elected Chair of the Planning Committee of the Park. Following the elections for the Shadow Council of Cheshire East, Hilda was elected as one of the three Councillors for Macclesfield Forest. She is currently Chairman of the Strategic Planning Board. | |||

| Cllr Lesley Smetham | |
|
| Lesley is married with no children, and her personal interests are history, family history, local history and natural history. Lesley studied as a mature student with the Open University, and gained an MA in Environment, Policy and Society. She recently joined the Conservative Party when prevailed upon to take-up the reins from Councillor Mrs Jane Palmer who has retired from service as a Macclesfield Borough Councillor. |
| All aspects of council responsibilities are of interest to Lesley. Of
high priority are the care of the disadvantaged, children, sick and
elderly with problems. Lesley adds "Care of the environment also figures highly on my agenda.'' Lesley is the Cabinet Support Member for Sustainable Communities, Area Working and Customer Engagement. In addition, she sits on the Standards, Children & Families Scrutiny, Environment & Sustainability Scrutiny, and Planning North Committees. Lesley adds "In my role as a Councillor Ive found that small things such as litter picking, improving untidy sites, speed watch, pot-hole and road repair and helping people connect with the relevant department to get their problems fixed means a lot to local people. Policies that address all aspects of well-being and life chances are important too and I hope that, in my various roles, I will be able to enhance the lives of local people.''
